Citizen Journalist Junction:
In their day to day lives, people all over the world conquer certain deeds that are major accomplishments. Sometimes, seemingly ordinary people are seen stopping heinous crimes. At other times, they are seen performing extraordinary acts of bravery. Most of these people do not get enough recognition for their astonishing actions. Even if they do get some credit, it is mostly by the local newspapers, read just by a handful of people. Citizen Journalist Junction endeavours to bring these amazing people at the forefront. We encourage all users to write to us such stories, which highlight the triumph of the human strength and spirit. And we promise to salute them globally on our Citizen Journalist Junction.
I Have a Story to Tell
I Have a Story to Tell is a series of autobiographical accounts by young women supported through their education by Camfed. The beautiful story features stunning and evocative photography from award-winning photographer - Mark Read - and is a tribute to the courage and capabilities of young African women.
I Have a Story to Tell has attracted excellent reviews and praise from across the world. Author Alexander McCall Smith said "This wonderful book with its gorgeous, evocative photographs brings it home to us just what education has done for these remarkable people. Our world has a harsh and unhappy face at many times. To read these stories and to look at the pride and joy in the faces of the people depicted in the photographs reminds us that the world can be a place of goodness and hope"
Graca Machel said, "I am proud to introduce you to a story of hope for Africa. This book celebrates the achievements of some wonderful young women. The common thread through all their lives is the power of education. If their stories teach us anything, it is that the struggle for education for all must be won, and that when it is, other struggles - against poverty, war, ignorance and disease - will become easier to win."
This book makes an ideal gift for any occasion. and due to the generosity of all those who helped to create it, Camfed is directing 100% of the funds generated through the book sales to girls and young women in Africa.
